Attend this free workshop on January 19, 2018 at IRSC Main Campus R132, 8am-4pm. This workshop is a comprehensive approach to understanding poverty. Bridges Out of Poverty uses the lens of economic class and provides tools and strategies for a community to alleviate poverty.Funding provided by United Way and IRSC. Participants review poverty research, examine a theory of change, and analyze poverty through the prism of the hidden rules of class, resources, family structure, and language.
Throughout the workshop, participants will receive specific strategies for improving outcomes, but the focus of the workshop is to provide a broad overview of concepts.
This training assists employers, community organizations, social service agencies, and individuals gain insight and strategies.

Be a part of something truly unique and extraordinary, by joining the Earth Day Festival at the Oxbow Eco Center on Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
The Oxbow Eco-Center is a St. Lucie County Environmental Learning Center that provides hundreds of educational programs and volunteer opportunities for residents throughout the year. But the Earth Day Festival is their largest event and is designed with the whole community in mind! Their goal is to create a Festival that reflects our citizens, our leadership, our history and our future. How is the Earth Day Festival at the Oxbow unique? There will be dozens of science, research and conservation organizations with fun and interactive activities to engage visitors in learning about the natural world around them.
