Lace up your running shoes and help run poverty out of town at the 10th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot Against Poverty 5K. Bring your family and friends along and plan to join them for their renowned free Sweet Potato Pancake Breakfast with juice and all the fixings.
Early bird (August 1 – September 30) race registration is $30, $35 regular (October 1 – November 22) race registration and $40 on race day. Groups up to 10 $250 and $25 for each individual after 10. In-person registration available at United Against Poverty’s UP Center, located at 2746 US Highway, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or at Runner’s Depot, 436 21st Street, Vero Beach, FL through November 22. Online registration will end on November 19, 2017.
All proceeds benefit United Against Poverty.

Come in to the Chipotle at 1768 SW Saint Lucie W Blvd in Port Saint Lucie on Wednesday, November 29th between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Each year the Fort Pierce Police Department and the Fort Pierce Police Athletic League deliver toys to less fortunate children in the community. This year, the police department will focus on delivering toys to less fortunate children.

The Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County is once again partnering with the Sunrise Theatre to present the 7th Annual Sounds of the Season holiday concert, along with WFLM 104.5 The Flame. This free holiday concert takes place on Friday, December 15th at 7:00pm at the Sunrise Theatre in Historic Downtown Fort Pierce.

Apply for participation in an upcoming “Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ –By World” workgroup. Each class is 16 sessions and applicants must be able to attend all sessions. Choose a class below and apply by calling Kari at 772-462-1777. Approved participants will receive a $25 gift card for every full session attended.
